In my Reformation Winslow dress, in Champagne, I took a size Small. For Reformation’s Marlowe dress , I also take a size small. It’s quite form fitting and a size small works well for me — not too small and not too big. … while the slit gives the dress movement and freedom to walk as fast or slow as you want. The Sigmund dress’ stretchy ruched back gives you space to breathe.
The Winslow, an evergreen style for Reformation, is an excellent bridesmaid dress option for church weddings. It is especially great for those who have a defined waistline but who prefer to cover their back, shoulder, or upper arm. I purchased this dress for a wedding that ended up being moved to Zoom, but plan to shorten it significantly to convert it for casual wear.

After looking through my closet and checking the sizes on all my Reformation pieces, the majority of them are a small. A few years back I finally ordered my first ever Reformation pieces. I remember shopping in their Soho store years and years ago and just swooning over everything. But remember being so frustrated in the dressing room at not only all the sizes I grabbed not fitting me right, but also the price tag. Fast forward a few more years and I ended up trying the brand again and so glad I did. I had to share this dress because the fit didn’t work for me at all.

Dresses are usually hand washable, but some require dry cleaning. I grouped these two dresses together as midi-style dresses with a bustier-style top. While I couldn’t find an exact pattern to match, a Redditor over at r/sewing made her own version of the Christine . While my other Ref dresses are a size small, the Marlowe feels and looks kind of big and unflattering in a size small.
Don’t forget to layer your fall dress look with a faux leather jacket or oversized blazer, the perfect final touch for your chic autumn look. Below, you’ll find seven styles that wereparticularly good, with notes on the fit and which body shapes they could work best for. Of course, there are so many more beautiful styles in Reformation’s online offering that weren’t in store, so I’ve also added in links to more of my favourite dresses. I really appreciate that they’re taking the time to create clothes that fit all body sizes. That said, I did find that the sizing to be somewhat strange. Some items were too big, some were perfect and a few were just too snug. This is typical, however, with many brands, especially when the design of each item is so unique. Regardless, I had a ton of fun trying on some things that I wouldn’t normally gravitate to.
First of all, I love that Reformation is sustainable. It’s the first sustainable brand I’ve found to sell extended sizes! They have ethical sourcing efforts and use recycled materials to design their clothes. One of the fabrics they use is sourced from eucalyptus with a similar feel to Rayon — this uses 80% less water than cotton and other fabrics. There are a few signature Reformation dress styles that when you see them, you know it’s Reformation.

My 100% silk crepe dresses feel a lot better and hold up well over time. While it’s a knit and not a dress, my Reformation Tille Cardi & Tank set is also a size small and fits perfectly. I feel like this dress could work for so many different events. I'd probably size down to an 8 if I were to buy it, as there was quite a lot of material in the 10 to allow for a bigger chest (a positive thing—well done, Ref, for considering that!). It does have an open back with a button closure where a bra would sit, so I think you could get away with a thin or pretty bra strap if you wanted. I always love a wrap dress on my slightly pear-shaped figure, and this was no different.
For starters, you can wear a bra with it, and it also just felt really comfortable and easy to wear. You don't have to worry about any accidental flashing or see-through material, and the pretty arm detail made it feel like a really special piece. I'm usually between a size 8 and 10, and in Reformation dresses, I've opted for the 10 or a medium so that they skimmed over my slightly bigger hips and tummy nicely. Since I'm only an A-cup, though, there was definitely room for a more ample bosom in this dress, in case you were wondering.
